About the role
Due to internal promotion our Finance team is hiring a European Assistant Accountant to support our European subsidiaries in France, Spain, Germany and Benelux. This role plays a key part in ensuring statutory submission and critical financial operations of the business are maintained.

In this role you can expect to:

Manage European bank reconciliations and prepare cashflow data
Prepare regular payment runs to facilitate payment to our suppliers and statutory bodies
Prepare and submit intrastat and other statistical declarations
Assist with the preparation of Group reporting requirements, including monthly dataset submissions and quarterly statutory reporting packages
Prepare and post journals (ad-hoc, recurring, payroll)
Prepare and submit VAT returns for all European subsidiaries
Perform intercompany reconciliations, raising intercompany invoices and managing cross-charges
Prepare cash flow forecasts to help manage the cash levels within the bank accounts.
Manage Fixed Asset registers
Support of the audit processes, providing relevant documentation to auditors.

About you
We’re seeking an ambitious and diligent part or fully qualified Accountant - perhaps you’re studying towards a relevant finance qualification or qualified through experience. The role would suit someone who’s self-motivated with the ability to work independently, managing your workload to meet deadlines. You will also need good written and verbal communication skills and work well as part of a team. You will have good computer skills and be proficient in MS Word, Excel. Knowledge of Oracle (or similar) accounting package experience advantageous but not essential. Our Finance team work on a hybrid basis, coming into the office 1 to 2 days a week.
