About the role

The role of process safety manager is vital to safe and successful company operation. Though knowledge is specialised, your range of activities will be broad. You will be responsible for overseeing risk management and hazard assessment, driving best practice, assessing and recommending competency and training needs, and acting as a champion to advance Process Safety within the organisation.

Reporting into the Group Fluids SHE Manager, your role will support our Fluids sites based in the UK, US, China and India and work closely with the Group Fluids Operations Director, Group SHE Functions, local Site Management , local engineering functions and local SHE Responsible individuals.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure Group Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are aligned with regulatory requirements and that they are routinely followed
  • Development and management of the Group Fluids Process Safety Management framework
  • Leading high-hazard risk reviews and critical risk assessments including, PHAs, HAZOPs, LOPA Studies, Management of Change etc
  • Input into Process Engineering design of capital and improvement projects including scope and risk ranking
  • Process safety action plan development and collaborative support to the Fluids sites in process safety related topic areas including :
    • Handling and processing of flammable liquids and combustible powders
    • Pressure relief
    • Process Control
    • Environmental control systems
    • Hazardous area classification and control of ignition sources (electrical and mechanical)
    • Chemical safety and security risk management
    • Process safety-related regulatory compliance including ATEX / DSEAR and PSSR
    • Asset Integrity
    • Instrumented protective systems
    • Lead workshops on Process Safety Management in order to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of Process Safety Management across the Fluids sites
    • Integrate Process Safety Management concept into the Fluids organisation

About you

The ideal candidate will be SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) and customer focussed and have previous experience within a fast-paced chemical or high-risk environment. You will have a minimum bachelors degree level in a technical discipline, typically within chemical or mechanical engineering. A Process Safety qualification and Chartered Engineer status is desirable.

You will have excellent people management skills and be able to develop and manage relationships with all kinds of people inside and outside the organisation and across different cultures.

You will be able to travel internationally to support the overall Domino business strategy and continuous improvement initiatives. You will have extensive experience of leading process safety activities in a high hazard chemical or related operation, and have familiarity with the handling of flammable and combustible liquids and powders.

Aviation Security

Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will need Aviation Security Clearance.  Therefore Aviation Background checks as specified by the Civil Aviation Authority - including a DBS check and 5 years’ employment/educational references - will need to be completed before the successful candidate can start the role.
