About the role 

As a Maintenance Engineer at our Liverpool ink plant you’ll be essential in ensuring our fast moving factory operation runs smoothly from a facilities and maintenance aspect. In this hands on role you’ll be responsible to sourcing appropriate advice and spares to enable the efficiency of our plant to remain high. Through careful administration via our maintenance system, you’ll manage all planned preventative maintenance task and their associated schedule and compliance documentation. Working with our Production Team Leaders you’ll support with fault finding and installations, carrying out either mechanical biased tasks with some basic electrical tasks (support and training will be provided) or electrical boased tasks with some basic mechanical tasks (support and training will be provided). 

You will be responsible for ensuring SHEQ standards are fully adhered to, as well as CMMS being fully maintained. We have some Engineering Apprentices within our team and it we’re looking for someone who mentor these individuals, sharing knowledge and offering support.  

Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will need Aviation Security Clearance.  Therefore Aviation Background checks as specified by the Civil Aviation Authority -  including a DBS check and 5 years’ employment/educational references will need to be completed before the successful candidate can start the role.

About you 

Suitable candidates for this role will have either a Mechanical or Electrical qualification, experience within a manufacturing setting and be a confident user of Microsoft and maintenance systems and able to work shifts between the hours of 6am and 10pm Monday to Friday.
You’ll be someone who enjoys problem solving, improving equipment and user experience for your colleagues. This role will requires excellent communication skills to understand what the challenges and opportunities are for our production teams. You’ll be someone who wants to find the right solution the first time. This role will be fairly autonomous, thus requiring someone who if confident in their ability to diagnose problems, as well as when to seek advice. Previous experience with rigging, lifting fabrications and welding would be advantageous but not essential. 
We will be required to complete Aviation Security clearance background checks for the successful candidate as set out by the Civil Aviation Authority, which includes a Disclosure and Barring Service check and evidence of work/education positions dating back 5 years. Further checks may be required if there are gaps in work/education history or if the 5 years includes extended periods outside the UK.
